With the recent latency problems at Sentech, I decided that I have finally had enough and set out to cancel my contract.
Following the advise of others on this site, I contacted Clinton Smith at Sentech customer services and stated my case. He was very cool and said I should send him a letter. Which I did.
I then called back today to find out what was happening. He said that Sentech has now formed a comity to review cancellation requests.
This means one thing for me: they are receiving so many requests that they need a comity to review them all to prevent land-sliding. What do you think?
Oh, and I need more opinions from you all; if Sentech refuse to cancel my contract I am going to go to the bank and stop their debit order. I am then going to refer all correspondence to my lawyer and refuse to enter into any discussions with them.
I am fairly certain, given that they are in breech of contract and that their contract is obtrusive, that they would not persue legal action; they know that they do not have a leg to stand on and that legal action could set precidents.
Am I right in thinking this? Has anyone else taken this course of action (cancel debit order, play tough)?
