Hi all,

I have 2x contracts with Vodacom and soon the 1 (my longest contract) expires and I want to know if the procedure for cancelling has changed?

I remember back "way back when" one had to type out a nice letter and fax it to the cancellations department - is this still the same or is something else required or what not - also what are the numbers to be used?

I want to cancel the contract but still keep the number as a prepaid number with Vodacom.

Thanks!

Phone this number: 082 1958 (you can thank me later)
It will take you 5 minutes. I tought it was going to be tough and a long process, a friend gave me this number and I still can't believe how easy it was. That was end April, my contract was converted to pay as you go on the 31st May.
I think it's better to convert to pay as you (pre-paid) go as oppose to cancelling.

Thanks beans100 for this, I'll call tomorrow - but my question about "WHEN" I should call - my contact only expires in a few months from now (more than 3 I think) so I just wanted to know should I call now (and arrange it) or must I call a month or 2 before the contract is going to expire?

Contract expiry date: 15 November 2013 (According to Vodacom.co.za)

I'd say do it a little closer, like 1 or 2 months before. I guess you can do it now and get it over with, but a lot can happen in 5 months. You may change your mind or something.
Just a heads up, they will change the date to the end of October. They don't seem to work with half a month...

I'm not sure if you have called them yet, but I went through Vodacom customer care via email. I asked them to convert my contract to prepaid when it ran out 6 months before it ended and there was no problems. Sent them an conformation email again 1 month before the end of the contract and that was that! Got an sms stating that my contract will be changed to prepaid about a week before it happened as well.

Thanks unpossible!

When it comes to things like this, I'd rather just phone / fax them, because then I can keep records of things - I guess e-mails could work too, but I'd rather have names and numbers and times should worst come to worst - I've never really had issues using e-mail either, but joh, you never know hey - tell me, what e-mail did you use?

Sorry for the late reply.

If I remember correctly, when you log in to my vodacom, there is an option for "contact us". Found it there. [email protected]

They phoned my later to confirm as well.
