Hi all

I need some advice.

I have recently left South Africa to further my studies overseas. I took out an MTN contract in October last year. It's R379 a month.

How do I go about cancelling it? Will the consumer protection act help me at all? Since the contract is of no use to me anymore, I don't want to keep paying it (but obviously will if there is no option).

As a last remedy, what would it cost to pay out the contract? How do they determine the amount that I pay out? Would I have to pay the amount remaining (say 18 months * 379)?

Thanks!

No.
You would have to pay the balance of your contract.
Speak to MTN.
