**** Cancer

Thank goodness, great news Emam. I wish you many many decades of long life!

Congratulations, ones attitude towards the big "C" is something I do believe plays a big part in the healing process, and yours is spot on :)

Congrats!

But in all honesty after what I've seen if I get cancer I'll just say **** it and let it kill me.
My friends and family know that I'll never go through chemo again......my own choice.
Will just live for each day as it comes for the moment.

Maybe, maybe not. I might try CBD oil, but chemo...nope.

Chemo wasn’t that bad for me (being on steroids helps a lot).

I took a real hit with the radiations and then transplant.

I’d go through all of it again if the odds of remission were good.

I was on steroids for my second lot of chemo - frikken picked up 7kgs in 12 weeks

Radiation was a breeze......walked around with my "target practice" on my chest

15kg gained. Lost 17kg in 3 weeks after stopping. But at 100mg a day, I was more active during chemo than in normal times.

I had high intensity full body radiation at 12gy, that’s probably where the difference comes from. It destroys all the cells in your mouth and throat, even drinking water was like swallowing razor blades for 4/5 days.

Chemo will be obsolete sooner than later due to current medical advances.

Even with new methods like I had, chemo is in first and second line treatment.

And in second line you get chemo again to fully destroy the tumor and a stem cell transplant to avoid it from recurring.

So I doubt that we’ll see the end of chemo in our lifetimes.

Have you read the article recently where some breakthrough was achieved by South African company?

It’s only a new type of chemotherapy:

If UJ3 becomes a chemotherapy drug in future, the lower dose required, lower toxicity and greater focus on cancer cells will mean fewer side effects from cancer treatment.

I’ve had plenty of new drugs in my chemotherapy, some of them not even approved yet in SA. Chemo is not a static thing, merely a combination of the best molecules available (through pills and drips) to eliminate your specific cancer.

Ok. Thanks for explanation

I was intrigued by this story a while ago, or rather how the discovery came about.
