Cannot Get Into BIOS

*sigh* Another problem ...

I cannot access my BIOS at all. After POST when it checks my CPU, memory and IDE drives it says at the bottom of the screen to Press Del to enter setup. After I do this as I have done time and time again to enter BIOS, it takes me to a blank screen with a stationary cursor. No BIOS!

My mboard is a little old (okay ... its actually ANCIENT!) and is a Soltek SL-K8AN. I've never had problems getting into BIOS before. And it must still exist and hold all the settings else my computer wouldn't be booting right?

So any ideas about why I cannot get into BIOS?

Try unplugging all your disks/drives. If you have an external disk, remove that too...

try clearing your BIOS using the jumpers on the motherboard, if that doesn't work then remove the motherboard battery for a while and try restarting. If still no luck then your BIOS might be corrupt or the chip might not be working any longer.

Are you using USB or PS2 keyboard

I second fishzn on his resolution, another option is to flash bios, using stiffy disk ,

try ps2 keybaord and everything else above. what board do you have?
