Cannot make calls to 8.ta from MTN

I cannot make calls to 8.ta numbers from MTN but can call from Vodacom and Telkom. On MTN I get the message: The number does not exist please check the number and dial again.

What can I do?

That's a strange problem cause I can make calls from MTN to 8.ta numbers without any problems. This would be a problem with MTN then.

I went further and established that the problem exist only in the Krugersdorp area. I get the same message in Rant en Dal as well as in Tarlton, but I am however able to call 8.ta numbers from OR Tambo airport using my MTN sim. It must be sonething on the towers in Krugersdorp that is not upgraded.

MTN fixed the problem and we can now make calls to 8.ta.

Slightly OT... have you experienced a tinny sound when calling from a landline (Telkom) to 8ta number. It also echoes horribly. This is NOT while roaming but while on the 8ta network itself.

Could be a localised problem. I have reported it to 8ta.
