cannot start the usb modem dash

hi, got the usb modem,

i try to install it on my pc, however after it has installed its software, the dashbord does not start, there is a dash that is supposed to appear, it does not. i cannot find it on the start menu, nothing. can the vodafone 7 dashbord support this, i have had enough with the built in software.

right after about 9 hours of trying i have found the solution.

1. the included vodafone lite software does not work so well on all computers.

2. For some reason i cannot understand my laptop picked up the modem and started the software with no problem.
my desktop, however did not start the software when the modem was inserted(even though it installed the software first time), and there was no way to manualy go into the program and force a connection.

3. I went to hawaris website and downloaded the new "mobile connect" dashboard. (download the vodacom one else you get no where)

4. flashed the modem with the new software, it includes a sms feature. and self installs it just like the lite software.

5. the new dashboard software actialy is actualy a program that sits on your computer, like the vodafone dashboard software used for the pcimcia cards.

6. Now i am able to force the card to be detected and connected, just by pressing connect.

7. the GUI is way better, i recomend that any one with a simmilar problem just download the original manufactures software. and save yourself grey hairs.

now i run the modem with a 4m USB extention cable witch i mounted high on the wall and it runs like a dream.

fast just so fast, I wonder however if someone with no computing knowledge had a simmilar problem how they would fix it.

after all it should just take a few min.
