These prices I have given you are my best ... they are only 3% mark-up which is super duper low.

I'd get the bundle and flog off the printer and 2gb CF card then. Then if you keep the 300D (which I would) you can keep the spare lens on it.

Plus the Corel disks might help stabilise a wobbly table. :)

So - heading off to Makro today? :)

Aperture is a great app. Definitely worth the money if you're anything more than a casual photographer.

First time doing some 'heavy' photo editing on a Mac & must say I am impressed with the performance..

iirc it ran pretty well on my older g4 powerbook too.

Does this mean you're shooting in RAW now?:)

Not yet but will look at that ... BTW - Makro is sold out :(- typical, they have 5 empty boxes of the bundle on the floor - probably only had 2 available and then sell the customer the more expensive non bundle camera.
So I got the body only from Foto Digital - busy loading the battery now.
Cost was R7700 but managed to throw in a remote switch.

Actually the size of the 400D is not a problem for me - have not got major big hands so its not a big change.

Damn makro! :o

Whats that remote switch like? I've been using my apple remote (via my laptop) - not ideal but it does mean I can take a hard drives worth of photos at a time. :)

Works very well. It also works on the half down for settings and full down for shutter. You can also keep it down for multiple shots (even has a lock down)

Oh, you thinking of the IR one, this is the corded one. Good for pics on a tripod with slow shutter speed - don't have to touch the camera - but I see one can do that with the second curtain thingie as well. Press shutter and 2 seconds later the shutter is released - read that in the manual.

You can also use your macbook (and its remote) as well. I used that method the other day when the missus wanted some family portraits.

Had to photoshop out the remote from a few pics but it was better than the self timer. :)

How would you use the Macbook remote? Have not played around with the software that comes with the Canon yet but did install all the Mac programs - do you use remote capture?

Second curtain, or mirror lockup? I normally use mirror lockup. If you activate the timer feature as well, a shutter button press flips up the mirror and after 2 seconds the picture is taken. I normally use the corded remote when doing this.

The IR remote works well when you want to be in the picture yourself.

I keep forgetting about mirror lockup when I'm doing night photography. :o

Yup, mirror lockup....

Did some shots of the moon last night but the clouds were moving too fast... and the moon was very bright on 200mm zoom - need to test a bit more...
