Apparently bought new 2 years ago. Very good condition. should I check it out first? Not that I would know what to look at.
Got an opportunity to buy this camera @ 1.6k. I've never used a dslr. Is this a gold starting point? Is the price reasonable? Kinda urgent. All responses are appreciated. Thank you.
Any lenses included in the deal?
Couldn't have been bought new two year's back unless it was unshifted stock. They stopped making them in 2007:

The kit lens (18-55 EFS) should be fine to get you started.Probably the lens that came with it. Should I ask for details?
Don't see why not - I started with the 400D a few years ago and it's still serving me well . . . of course since then I've spent enough to buy a small car so be careful - it's a slippery slope!Thanx. So its a good start for me?

Will this camera be able to take a decent picture of the moon?
Yes but you need a proper lens for that.
If you own a telescope you might be able to get an adapter and get some sweet shots.Roger that! Thats when the costs escalate. Baby steps!
I see. Was it available here new 2 years ago?
I think you just need a long lens for that ; doesn't need to be expensive or anything - even a basic long lens!
I used a 350D for a short while after my 40D got nicked. It did a decent job and for R1.6k it's still a decent body. Don't expect earth shattering high-ISO performance though.
