canon ip4600 print head replacement

Hi there..

So my canon pixma ip4600 is in need of a new print head. Ive been quoted R1000 for a new head but i paid R800 for the printer brand new.. Is there any place that i could find it cheaper or even a refurbished or second hand part? Im in durban..

Primo,

Sadly replacing print heads on a printer is not cheap. I am not sure if you'd find it for a lot less(R<700) unless you have a friend that does printer repairs that will charge you for the part & no labour. though you might find cheaper.

In the case of a used print head - not recommended as the part could last a year or it could last a week. :(
 
Toss the printer and buy a new one, simple. Printer repairs are just not worth it.
 
Our printer repair agent, who is very well priced, also gives quotes of R1,000 and more for print head replacements on Canons. The parts need to be brought in so hence the expense. Once you need a new head you might as well get a new printer, as mentioned above.

Remanufactured ink from the right suppliers are not a problem. The suppliers I get cartridges from to resell actually offer a printer warrantee should thier cartridges be the cause of your printer going faulty they will repair/replace the printer depending on what is cheaper. In the time I have delt with them I have not had to take one printer to them.
 
The printhead on my IP4600 also packed up about a month ago :mad: .... was in contact with canon SA .... they had a replacement for R838 excl. :wtf: - This printer is now on some or other rubbish heap :cry:

Sad thing is that on a nearby heap is another IP4600 with a fried controller board and a perfectly good printhead!
 
Canon ip 4600

Hi, If you still have the printer, and are not getting it repaired, I need it for spares.
