Morning all,

I am looking for a point and shoot digital for my wife's handbag (the EOS20D is cool, but is obviously a bit big :D). So I am looking at the A540 as a small(ish) point and shoot. Any comments on this camera?

Thanks

yeah its a really nice camera. But if you want something a bit more compact look at the Canon Ixus range. BTW I am always very biased toward Canon cameras, they always great quality.

The A540 is a sweet camera for the combination of features and price. It's a medium-sized camera which is still comfortable to use and stash. If your wife is insisting on ultra-compact, then the iXus is the best choice. I'm just not keen on paying more for fewer features, just because it's a little smaller.

Sony is for Fashion geeks & canon is for fun & creativeness, more like microsoft & apple LOL :p

Im also biased towards Canon cameras, apple to ! LOL :P

anyways ... ive got a ixus 40, the 4mp camera, its cool ! Theres 2 ixus ranges, a small one & a really small one but theres many differences. My gal took the tiny one & i took the small one. Hers has like a tiny lcd display & many more things i have that she doesnt. The only thing cool about hers is that theres no limit on the movie recording facility compared to my measly 30 seconds.

Hope this helps ............. You can with canon ! LOL
