Cant change boot order

As I said, a user problem. Drink Coffee and eat in the tea room, not behind your keyboard and this issue will not arise.

Wow dude you seriously have some sort of issues that cause you to treat others like this that only asked for help. I'm ignoring you so I dont have to interact with your negativity and bring you some sort of sick entertainment.

No, you are the one with issues. First, you claim ignorance of computer systems, then you say you are reasonably computer literate, then you claim broken keys, THEN you tell us the keys were faulty because you spill coffee and other things on the keyboard. Who is playing silly buggers here?

Ignoring all the bickering

I have found the only way to bypass dual booting issues is to install every OS on a separate physical HDD. Because each OS and bootloader is physically separated in this way you can easily then use grub for everything without the risk that a win10 feature update overwrites it, linux can read windows but windows cant read linux. Of course some feature update can always implement the genius "cure-all" but writing the M$ bootloader to all HDD's but then it's still easier to restore grub anyway..... grub rescue is rather useless half the time anyway but that's another issue.

I have yet to have a mixed booting partitioned HDD setup last very long and oddly it does seem to decrease the health of the HDD but I might be wrong there.

Yes, I agree. Prefer to run different OSs on different machines if possible.

No bickering I'm honestly just here to learn. Thanks for that!

I'm finding Linux really fun to play around with an learn again about it.

If someone quotes himself.... is he speaking in third or fourth person?

I remember my linux honeymoon period.... now I'm just annoyed at it's inherent shortcomings both because of OEM ambivalence and general dev shortsightedness.

Gosh you people on here are so nasty it actually amazes me! If you have nothing nice to say just say nothing. I clearly replied to the wrong comment. I came here for advise and help and not to be grilled. Wont ever bother posting for help on here again.

Chill dude was just a joke.

Sorry Dude. I am just really over being grilled when I was just asking for help! My laptop is really old and has not been used for a long time. It has also taken a good few hard knocks in its life thanks to my cat. Only 1 usb still works but at least the keys work now after being cleaned and pushed back on property. Its just for me to play around with and learn. The comments and constant grilling from Geoff is really not appreciated.

Thread needs to be locked. My issue has been resolved

There is a lot of learning but a lot of it is fun at least. I remember feeling like I was in nerd heaven because some parts are just SO MUCH BETTER..... other parts not so much. A big problem aside from the software itself ended up being the backwards thinking radical (some ultra-radical) "linux is god" element in the community..... your temper will be tempered in the distro IRC and forums.

Please refrain from commenting if you cant be nice. I am not ignorant, I said I have limited knowledge. Secondly the laptop used to belong to my husband and he bought it around 2009 ish. So yes it has been through a really time. Some of the keys still wont work and some not well. Some of the clips that press them down are broken. Why on earth does this make you so offensive anyways? Please just leave me alone Dude.

As per the Private Messages we have been exchanging, we have decided to let bygones be bygones and start again. Good luck with learning Linux and getting an old PC to work again.
