Choice between:
EVGA SuperNOVA 1000G G2 1000W 80+ Gold Full Modular Power supply , 10 Year Warranty - $299

Or

Corsair 1000W HX-1000i ATX Power Supply, 80 PLUS Platinum Certified, Full Modular,High power and incredible efficiency , 7 Year Warranty - MEPS Ready - $349

I am a Seasonic fan. You will find that a number of Corsairs are in fact rebadged Seasonics.

EVGA is a SuperFlower, Corsair is a CWT. Both on par. EVGA wins due to value/warranty.

Umm no

Power supply quality wins over warranty, you dont skimp quality on a PSU and corsairs upper range are right up there with seasonic.

There are way more factors than just efficiency in a psu by the way, read more.

Edit: Are you running 2 or more gfx cards because 1000w is quite a bit.
I dont know about the hx series but the ax i series of PSU's when they came out were rated as the very best psu's you could get, so good that many reviewer's said that they exceeded the platinum spec enough that if there was a rating above platinum it should go there. If 860w is enough you could save quite a bit of cash by going ax860i

Super Flower is a premium PSU designer and right alongside Seasonic in quality and performance, if not higher on average. I'd also opt for the EVGA because you're not getting more wattage from the Corsair and very seldom will anyone be able to exploit the Platinum rating to their benefit. Gold efficiency is perfectly fine here.
 
So the consensus is EVGA so far? I was going to get the Corsair because of the extra efficiency even though it is only 2% is I'm not mistaken, the the 3 year extra warranty of the EVGA for $50 less is just too hard to pass up.

Getting 1000W because more is better, I want it to last at least 7 years and not get into a situation where oh it's not powerful enough because of so and so ect, PC I am trying to build will consist of 2 x 980 or 2 x 300 series GPU's from AMD overclocked, i7 either z97 or x99 overclocked, possibly a custom water loop though that is another story as I have never done one and would really like one, I have so far come up with a build for that.

Even 2x980 and watercooling won't strain a 1000w PSU. You can get by fine with an 850w. But hey why not?

I'd go for the Corsair personally.

That, and the platinum certification which is pretty rare to find. I have a lot of trust in Corsair PSUs built up over the years. But like I say either one is overkill for you so it doesn't really matter,

Both are 80+ Platinum.

You're right, I was looking at the P2. My apologies.

I'd only get the Corsair if it was Seasonic OEM.

Still believe that Gold is more than enough, and that the extra warranty is worth it.

Having owned the AX850, IMO the only benefits higher-than-Gold provide are a hybrid fan which only turns on at ±40% load (some models like Corsair AX), and bragging rights. Very little practical reason going Platinum, perhaps a couple of Rands saving per month? There was a time I wanted the best PC components. Grew out of it and sold off the AX850, etc.

Rocking a CX430 now.
