Can't decide what PSU to get

Grew out of it and sold off the AX850, etc.

I would have kept the AX850. Good power supplies remain good for a very long time and you were always going to need one anyway. Downsizing to a CX430, which is in another universe in terms of quality, just doesn't make sense to me.

Gotta agree with this. What's the point of scaling down a PSU?

I used to game and had a high end gaming rig. I then sold off and put the money elsewhere. Nowadays my downscaled gaming machine (i5 2500K, HD6850) gets turned on maybe once a week, so there would be no need for an AX850.

I guess I have Mac to blame for my decision as well...

Also, after having the AX850 for 1.5 years, I managed to sell it with about 20% depreciation. That's a minimal loss for something unneeded. Made good sense at the time, to me.

Very true, but you'll be better equipped to deal with such a change. Imo PSU's are one of the best investments when done right, since they really don't change all that much.

Agreed, if the past is any indicator, they won't change much in the future.
