Cant get settings on Acer M900

I received a new Acer M900 smartphone from UK but I have failed to load the internet settings for the phone. When I send *123# I receive an sms which says 'sorry, your phone is not able to receive automatic settings. If you need assistance setting up your handset please dial 173' Dialed customer care and spoke to a couple of consultants but none seemed to know what I should do. If I cannot receive the settings automatically, is there a way to set them up manually. Here is the webpage from where I ordered the phone:

Doesnt sound like a network tested phone at all, dial 1555 and have our data helpdesk talk you through manual setup?
