I currently have a 10mb line. I'm relatively close to the exchange +- 1.5km. My line attenuation (23) suggests that I'm approximately 1.6km from the exchange. The Telkom website shows that my house falls comfortably within the VSDL coverage area.
I contacted Telkom and they confirmed my exchange supports 20mb VDSL and they arranged for a technician to go to the exchange today (04/04) to do the installation. I spoke to Telkom a couple of minutes ago to get a status update and now they say I'm to far from the exchange for VDSL (??!!).
I don't get it... Even on ADSL2+ I should be able to get speeds close to 20mb.
