Hi

Well i got my usage report for the new month and it seems very odd. Apparently I have not used any bandwidth last month.

Allocated 5120.0 MB
Carried Over 5095.94 MB
Purchased 0.0 MB

So now

My current allowed usage is Double this month :D

Data remaining:

Total Data Remaining 10175.38 MB

Did i win some free Bandwidth prize?? I hope so because i won't be paying for this thats for sure :p

I thought that iBurst was to become competitive with the others but alas no, it's back to usual cap - and they stole 600MB too - and I wasn't even logged on.

Anyway - as soon as Neotel comes to my area I'm bailing ship. If ADSL gets any cheaper, I'll get that possibly.

What package are you on?
For 5GB International (Blended) and 30GB local Data @ 4Mb/s ADSL you pay R558 on DoBroadBand Level 3.
There are other good deals available from a number of ISP's
WebAfrica is giving away a 10GB ADSL trail offer this month (But I think the slots may have been filled for that already)
You can get top-ups (Boosters) at +- R 70-80 per Gig.
With ADSL there are a lot of ISP's and you can switch to whoever has the best offer as long as you don't sign a contract.
You don't need new equipment to switch from one ISP to another.

OK. But is the "line rental" that the Telkom Do offering excludes actually compulsory?

From the Do R554 website (at the bottom):
Excludes line rental, voice and fax call charges.
The local data applies after the initial 5GB data has reached its limit.

Yes, that's the catch. I am on Telkom Prepaid now. I pay R130 per year to receive calls.

If I wanna get a ADSL line, I will have to pay R131 per month just to receive calls.
