I hate it with the most distaste on this planet when people refer to bandwidth, data or throughput as CAP.

This isn't 2005 anymore, you should know better.

Local CAP,
International CAP,

This is a fricken cap:

When your bandwidth allocation is finished, then you are CAPPED :mad::mad:

If you know what we're talking about, it shouldn't matter ;)

Thanks to Telkom the words cap or capped is now a part of our culture so to speak.

I personally find auto-coprophagia more distasteful.

Cap : Upper ceiling or limit.

So if you have hit your limit (Cap) you will be capped.

Also used in financial markets to denote a limit to interest.

So with this definition it would sound like this:

Would I be able to play Doom3 on my local upper ceiling or limit?

There is no excuse for using the word when Bandwidth is the topic.

It appears there's a misunderstanding of the meaning CAP. Elaborate what it is exactly that has your nickers in a knot?

What countries even still use "Local" & "International" split?
Search google for "local vrs international bandwith" & the hits are 99% .co.za sites

Exactly. The way you edited my post is how it should sound.

People in South Africa just say. I need to play on my local CAP, or international CAP etc.

It just sounds lame.

/me wonders if the OP remembered to powder his nose.

I'm not a woman, but thanks anyway.

It's also lame that Grammar Nazi's get to Bitch and Moan wherever it pleases them, but once someone with a peeve states something it's uncalled for.

"Would I be able to play Doom3 on my local cap?" this makes as much sense as the people who wear the caps in your post usually do.

You sure seem to moan and bitch at our local cap's peril :erm:

This is a bizarre thread to say the least :) Not sure what the OP tried to say... is it about local vs international cap.. or just capping in general ? If capping in general, yes SA been doing it for awhile, but we are not the only country...
If it's about local vs int.. well then I say SA got a better capping system than the rest.
