Why does Neotel not have a way of checking your cap on-line?
Surly this would be a priority of any ISP to provide its clients with the ability to monitor their cap usage.

I have heard stuff about something being in development to solve this problem:
1. Why was this not implemented AGES AGO?
2. When does Neotel plan to launch this. (Make it snapy plz)?

Thats the question on everyones mind, they've come out with new products but still on self monitoring service. They say if you wanna know contact the call-centre...and most of the time the call-centre people give you your last month's usage.

I'm thinking if the call-centre people have a way of viewing our usage, wouldn't it be EASIER for us to view it

I agree where in the world have you seen an ISP that you cant view your cap, probably not even in Afghanistan where people are at war.

I've tried the call centre about 5 times now, and all i can say is USELESS...

"The system is blank"... is my bill also going to be blank???

or

"We can only tell you at the end of the month when the system generates a usage report or w/e"... NEE NEE NEE, whats this?

I definately agree there should be a means to check it online, i REALLY dont wanna know what my bill is going to be at the end of this month. I upgraded (well not yet because apparently this can only be done on the 1st of the month) to the uncapped option so i can stop worrying about my bill (well its one of the reasons anyway).

My initial opinion of Neotel was
a) great internets (had no problems for the first two weeks) and
b) if i wanted to speak to a monkey i would go to the zoo, not phone Neotels "customer service" centre

HOW do i check how much cap i've used? ANYONE?? This just isn't on.

I basically self monitor my usage, I use Bandwdith Vista (It also works on XP)

Remember always to account for undetected usage (say 500mb)

Undetected usage, then what is the point of detecting usage.

Science tells us there are laws of conservation of energy. What goes in must come out. If there are "undetected usages", then over-unity would have been a reality. But it is not. So Neotel and all other networks, we are watching you. :p

@ Pathogen: I am still awaiting a response on my PM.

Well my solution is forking out more bux and going uncapped  had enough frustration for 1 month tyvm. Although must say thanks to the Neo rep for working on my problem :)

Now if only there were an uncapped Neoflex package :D pleeeeeeeeeeease!! somebody make it happen :D

@ jarrodr:

You can expect this latest in the 2nd quarter. Testing is ongoing with the feature and only when it passes QA will it be released.

We are working on 3 options: Online viewing, Email / SMS notifications and a realtime dashboard tool that the user installs on their PC / Mac. However; notifications via email / SMS may arrive earlier.

Well I'm getting my Neoflex package next month, so its gonna be hard cause I'm not gonna run all the connections through my PC.

-PC will be connected by LAN to router.
-PS3 will be connected by LAN to router.
-Laptop will be connected Wireless to Router

Any idea how to monitor a router?

Nah, can't help you there - but since I have the actual device which runs though my PC, the program works great.

lol...I'll just have to wait for the 2nd quarter of the year.

which is... 12/4 =>3 ...Hence there should be something between April and June

@ Neotel

How are we suppose to stay inside our cap if we can't monitor it.

Or should we be too afraid to use our internet and Neotel maintains a fast line cause nobody is using it?

This is unacceptable.

I'm waiting for almost a year now and have heard the line "It's being developed" more than once.

It's time you deliver what you've promised.

0rk0, how about letting Neotel first sort out their connection speed issues before they wonder off into other areas.

Both are important, but too many users can't even USE their Neotel so why bother monitor it?

I hear you, but both issues are costing us time and money...and this thread is about the cap monitoring.:D

But surely if they claim to be so world class, then they must have enough personnel to tackle both issues.

I'm hoping the line speed will improve with the undersea cable landing in June.
That's 3 months from now and it's well known. I can wait.

When the monitor will actually be here is still a mystery and open for debate.

Since I'm moving from a 10Gig NeoConnect to a 5Gig NeoFlex, bandwidth is an issue now.
