Cape Town 7's - 2018 ~ What Gives?

Is anyone else out there wondering if SARU have fecked up the ticket selling process and are now delaying the sale of said tickets?

Last year the tickets went on sale around August, only to be sold out in two hours...
So this year they decided to try something new, get folks who are rugger fans to register, so we did.....
Now I reside in a small town in the middle of nowhere and know of a ton of local folk who have registered...
How on earth are SARU going to decide who gets tickets and who does not?
I had to cancel my regular holiday accommodation in Greenpoint because I have yet to source tickets.
This is very unprofessional of SARU.

I think think they have had way too many folk register for tickets and now don't know how to allocate.

My family where looking forward to heading down to the CAPE for a long weekend of rugger and will most definitely not be going if we are only allocated tickets for one of the two days,
In true Moose fashion, I have already informed the clan, that I will move the car out the garage and build a wooden grandstand, move a big screen into the place, add a draught machine and a braai and we will do 7's in the garage, at the same time saving at least 20 odd grand....

Most of the tickets are bought by corporate companies and various other companies, and then distributed to staff etc. I have to say I’ve been highly frustrated as well, especially when I watch rugby all other times during the year. It’s a pain, when you see these fly by night or 2 day only rugby fans just there to take selfies, while those who are genuine rugby fans or goers can’t get a ticket.

It's a lottery system, just like entering the Two Oceans Marathon. Because it's so popular, they can't cater for everyone. You go into a pool, and hope you get picked.

I know it's peanuts in the grand scheme of things, but we have cancelled the trip. Saves me at least R30 000 I would have dumped into the Cape Town economy....

And you okes are right, it is not fair that big business get allocated block seats to entertain whoever and the the die hard fans get chucked into a lottery...

I for one would love to know how many folk have registered to get tickets, must be in the region of 200 000 at least

We registered, using seven different email accounts of various family members, but have given up at this late stage. Ironically the Guesthouse we stayed contacted us for confirmation which we could not give as we had no tickets yet, he had other guests wanting to book, then it turned out they also could not confirm as they were in town for the same event and were sitting in the exact same situation as us.....

So lo and behold, a month before the great event, The powers that be sent me two codes to redeem in order for me to purchase 8 tickets for the event....

They can go and FLECK!! themselves and their idiotic method of selling tickets! I am so &^%$$%^ at them, loyal sevens fans for the last six years we were and liked our Cape Town 7's holiday and due to their idiotic method of selling tickets will no longer be attending this event...... They can go and screw themselves threefold.....If I ever meet the plick that came up with this method of selling tickets I will give him a piece of my mind.\

As an international visitor to the game, I need to plan at least two months before the event..... In this dark world this event was a highlight in my life.,..... I am pissed off now that THOSE people have ruined my day and I am more than likely going to be unstable at work today and dish out warnings to people...

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s play – mostly in the family stand (alcohol-free) – from Computicket (online and from outlets). A family of four can have an amazing day out for just R 1 000.

Stupid plonkers shot themselves in the foot and The Moose Clan should have been there......
