Just scanned my new TV and finally they have a digital signal emanating from Tygerberg! No transmission tho, and quite a weird selection of channels – none of which are operational, and sweet jack on your TV’s EPG.

Guess Multiscum would kick up a fuss if any of these free to air channels were working anyway since they charge for Free-To-Air channels in this joint.

800 – CNN
801 – Cartoon Network
802 – Channel O
803 – E! Entertainment
804 – ESG CBMS (heh?)
805 – ESG Sagem (heh?)
806 – MTV
807 – National Geographic
808 – SABC 1
809 – SS1 400/25 (I must assume this is not supersport)
810 – SS1 250/15
811 – SS1 250/22
812 – E News
813 - SciFi channel
.
Funny no SABC 2 or 3 or Etv. Weird? Is this the same as what they broadcasting in Jozie and Durbs ?

Are these Sentech guys testing anything? Why no feeds on any of these channels? EPG? They really think this is all going to be working 100% by next year as per requirement for FIFA WC?

Why could they not at least give us the feed for SABC1 ??? BTW there is buggerall on Sentech website for digital TV support and even less on SABC for digital Tv - how does that suck!

PS: ch 813 was a lie - sorry. I know that wasn't funny :o

SABC/etv clearly stated that their DTT trial is only running in Jozi and Durbs.

I'm guessing most of those channels are part of Multichoice's trial for some of it's anologue subscribers- if there are still any out there:D

Chances are even though you were able to scan these channels you won't get jack because they're (probably) encrypted but this is still a great development.

ROLMAO @ channel 813:D
