Cape Town has a plan for its infamous unfinished freeway

But there are two ends of the highway,

traffic is still a nightmare as you get into the CBD from the highway - so why not just finish the bridge?

Edit: Waltons will just have to deal with the new road next to their 4th floor

wasn't it intended to be a direct by-pass to the N1?

if so - it would then help with traffic congestion?

so why talk about pulling it down - that costs money! - as it is now, it's not costing anything.

That area has a negative economic impact on the City. It needs to be fixed. Completing them as planned (which doesn't seem to be an option) would make the problem worse.

Its supposed to link the N2/N3 with Green Point / Sea point.

It would be really great to fly over that Buitenkant intersection instead of having to fight with the town and waterfront traffic.

That was the idea. Now there are hotels in the way.

That intersection is one of the biggest in Cape Town, I think. Something like 11 phases.

Keen for them to do something with this unfinished part. As long as the something is not just filtering more traffic into that same crazy intersection.

Get a map with all the roads removed and start planning the best road network. After that you can look at reusing old infrastructure.

One building is close but not in the way.
They will have to shorten some trees though

What about the hotel? It's directly in the way of where the unfinished part is meant to meet up with the other unfinished part, to make a flyover...

Cape Town has a plan for its infamous unfinished freeway

And you won't believe what happened next...

to complete - or possibly remove

BusinessTech lost the plan...

EDIT: I found the rest for you:

‘Cause you’re hot then you’re cold

You’re yes then you’re no

You’re in then you’re out

You’re up then you’re down

You’re wrong when it’s right

It’s black and it’s white

We fight we break up

We kiss we make up

You, you don’t really wanna stay no

You, but you don’t really wanna go o

You’re hot then you’re cold

You’re yes then you’re no

You’re in then you’re out

You’re up then you’re down

just join the part that is now a parking lot to the side that leads to greenpoint. there is nothing in the way. or is that parking lot a nice cash cow?

that will help a lot of traffic. big queues sitting at that traffic light turning right to greenpoint. you can then travel from mandela boulevard straight to greenpoint without stopping at the waterfront entrance traffic light.
