Hi all and Neotel rep,

Since I'm at work most of the day, my GF is at home using my internet which is obviously via Neotel.

Everyday she moans that Neotel is disconnecting alot and when it does connect, it doesn't do anything then she disconnects, turns off the device, whatever, but after a bit of fiddling works.

Today, I got off work early, came home at about 2:30pm to find my downloads had stopped and whatever, so I disconnected and reconnected my connection, only to have the same problem that my GF had told me about, did all my normal things, turned off device, disconnected, reconnected a few times, eventually after 30 minutes of struggling got SOOOOOOOO the moer in, I went to Gardens Centre.

My GF SMS'd me to tell me that she had got the connection working.

Now, clearly, this happens alot more than I know about (simply because I'm not at home and I always figured my GF wasn't working the connection properly)

Can Neotel (via Neotel rep) please look into this!

Neotel rep, you know my details.

Thanks!

It's not only Cape Town, it's everywhere. I seem to be having more luck now though, not as bad as it was.

Also, if you haven't done it, phone the Neotel Tech Support and ask for all incoming data ports to be opened. I found that when I did that the other day, my downloads haven't kept cutting out or killing the connection.

"Neotel is currently experiencing a high volume of complaints. Please leave your name and number and we'll get back to you...if we feel like it."

On a more serious note, I've sent ISPA a complaint regarding Neotel's nonsense and I'm busy drafting a complaint for ICASA as well.

There is a app called Neoping 3.0 made by Keeper that keeps your Neotel connection alive for downloads... search the forums.

Although if there are real connection issues that won't help really. But it does work well when the connections running normall.

Peace.

Hi guys,

I am awaiting concrete feedback from the network engineering team. I do not want to post for te sake of posting and not have anything meaningful said.

My Neotel Prime sometimes goes down for an hour but for the most part its stable however its been down since after 8 this morning with no sign of recovery - That is Tamboerskloof Cape Town City Bowl

Cheers

Today when I got home (5pm) I had to disconnect something like 6x and restart the device 3x and eventually I started to get some activity but then I started my downloads and only got 30kb. I sorta knew that would happen because when I opened up Gmails (I download to Outlook) the mails came in sooooooooooooooooooooooooo slowly and I only had 1mb (total) e-mails.

More issues for Cape Town, Wynberg Tower...very slow connection and many more Connection Time-Outs!!! Any one know if there is maintanence on the network tonight?

Experiencing the same issues in Jhb; I'm surprised I can actually post here. Gosh, the disconnects are unbearable

I have had no internet tonight. It connects and dies after 5 seconds. Neotel sort this out.

Still no internet. I have to post from my phone. I logged a ticket with neotel. I suggest everyone does this so that they know how big an issue this is.

Ok. At exactly 16:00 I was able to connect for the first time since last night 20:00

Wow. Do you actually have a network team? They should all be fired, and Neotel should be forced to close down. Rather leave your consumer products out of the offering until you can provide proper support.

Im about to get neotel, will i be able to play dota because thats pretty much why i have internet lol. Does this dcs happen every where because im in a good signal zone.

@empiricism - yeah national problem and no date for resolution...but when it works it works well.
