Education will not resolve this matter, superstition is a religion or to be politically correct it is a traditional religion.

These cages are used to drown more than rats in the communities… I won’t elaborate.
In regard with the rats, long story short, the concern is an overpopulation where the cages are used to selectively control the thinning. Once there is no balance, these communities will be open to more severe pests.

You are under the impression that rats has no meaning in the ecosystem. Once you eradicate the rats, then you have a mice problem, this is only one example. Once you remove the mice... Do a read up on the ecosystems, especially on invasive species.
