Funny that I must have also imagined it then. I suppose I also imagine seeing the transfer option every time I go to the atm? And the transaction being in their fee list?
Does not happen, are you with Capitec, post a picture next time.

Other banks charge you a monthly fee much higher, say R99 or R199p/m and give your "FREE" transactions and notifications.
So you're still coming out ahead. Nevermind that ATM withdrawals are much cheaper with Capitec.
you will then be very surprised to see what other banks charge!
BTW have just changed my SMS notification - have made it so money in does not trigger an SMS and R1000 or more triggers that should cut down on a few anyway.
Monthly, my interest always out weighs my fees - Capitec, IMO, by far the best bank.
FNB Easy Account is an absolute joke! You get slapped with all sorts of fees afterwards ! ! ! At first sight,
looks ok but in practice is a nightmare. Opening it was very quick. Closing it was another matter though. After many emails I was tolled I am earning too much and I was offered all sorts of expensive accounts. WTF
Never again. Capitec is not the golden egg either but is the best if you earn a slightly higher than average salary.
Yea this thread places things into perspective. Capitec is by far the most affordable.
Why would people still use Absa?
FNB I can understand due to its business orientated RMB
Not so sure about that - looks pretty much the same day to day but some sneaky fees have been worked in. Whats up with wanting to see payment history over three months? SMS 115 vs 80 will add up over time. But earning interest on all your capitec will make more remembering to move money between your FNB account (not sure what the main account's saving rate is?) - that said, they just waiting to "fine" you if you do not have cash in your account.
Lastly, capitec's security is way better using the token machine and fingerprinting. Secondly, visiting a branch is a better experiance. Lastly, it's only because of Capitec that other banks have had to lower prices - personally, after being shafted for years, I like giving the middle finger to them.
I just lurv how selective people must be to use FNB.@Hendrix - You say FNB Easy account is cheaper? FFS Obviously you are into FNB or something. Now, tell us please, if I draw R3000-00 at the FNB ATM, how much do I have to pay for the transaction? And yes, I MUST get the cash to pay the workers every Friday afternoon. And pleeeeeeeease don't advise me to drive up and down, to some grocery store on a Friday afternoon, with a bakkie full of workers in a busy town looking for parking, waiting in never ending ques . . . . Been there, done that. WTF Just tell us how much does your beloved FNB charge? No more no less. Now compare that to Capitec. Read again the first sentece of this very post and in case you mixed up your english vocabulary, google the definition of 'cheaper'. Geee, I had so much grief with FNB, I won't go back even if they give me their Golden account FOR FREE!
Facts:
Get R3000 Capitec acc, card and ATM - fee R 5.50
Get R3000 Capitec acc, card and FNB ATM - fee R 8.50
Get R3000 FNB acc, card and FNB ATM - fee R 27.50
Get R3000 FNB acc, card and other ATM - fee R 30.00 + ! ! !
Now Hendrix, go figure . . .
