What kind of credit to they give, what was your interest rate, what's the card look like? General thoughts..

Not here for financial advice, am simply interested :)

ooohh didnt realise it was available already.
If their fees are as low as their savings account would seriously consider moving cc to them as well

I didn't see any announcement but it's on their website, R50 a month fee

Can they compete with Virgin Money CC?
Well they charge a monthly fee, but they do have budget available for those who use it, and it would be more convenient for moving money in and out being part of Capitec if your main account is with them.

My experience with virgin has been mediocre, they give less credit than other banks and technology wise the Sms alerts can't be customised and they have no app, superficial but matters to me.

I'm primarily with FNB due to my home loan being there and my ebucks cover the fees. Was with Capitec primarily For years but the lack of home finance made me move

Capitec will be just a 'lil more expensive. Capitec CC includes the account fee AFAIK so it's R50-R5.25 = R44.75. FNB CC is R30+R13 = R43 (+ R165 initiation fee).

EDIT: With Ebucks you have to jump though hoops and the rules keep changing every year aswell.

With eBucks I get R1000 each month back in eBucks with minimal "hoop jumping". But each to his own.
I like the R1000 though for little effort.

I get very little eBucks although I spend a lot, seems that without hoop jumping it is a waste of time.

Considering closing my FNB cards.

It's really worth it though. Maybe you should try and see how it works. I don't spend that much and I get around R1000 back each month.
Then I can buy vouchers at 40% discount as well. I used R2100 of eBucks to buy a R3500 builders warehouse voucher. And it cost me nothing. It's basically free.

Yes there are hoops to jump. But for me it's worth it at the moment. As soon as it's not worth it anymore I will leave.

You already posted that. It's still more expensive and there are no rewards. I wasn't even referring specifically to FNB...

Visited a branch in Centurion last weekend, to apply for one, they couldn't give me one yet - according to the consultant it is only available in the Western Cape for the time being.

Meh, If you're gonna spend close to R50pm on a credit card, you're going to want to claw some of that back via rewards = FNB

If you don't want to pay a monthly fee and are happy to avoid levels and hoops = Virgin Money

I chose the latter. My wallet will only have 1 kind of Capitec card in it, it seems....

It only launched on sunday. I got mine yesterday.
