Capitec Credit Card - Anyone got it?

Well, I reactivated my Capitec account as a have reached my limit on the annually increasing Standard Bank fees. I asked about a credit card but they said "no" as I don't have a monthly payslip. I'm self employed. Offered my tax return but it wasn't acceptable. The manager said he would check higher up but I've heard nothing. Anyone with information on getting around this?

Yep they've always been like that, had the same issue when asking about credit back when they first launched their various credit products.

Random, untested thought: Get her to start paying herself a salary? Needs to be a fixed amount every month that needs to match the payslip and be an actual inflow of cash. Generate a payslip. Present this to Capitec in 3 months and see what happens?

That only works if you also have independent chartered accountant signing off on the supposed salary.

I am self employed and even though I have a track record over multiple years moving considerable amounts of money through my capitec account since 2015 I was also denied the same creditcard option due to being self employed and Capitec rep told me that the only way would be to pay a chartered accountant to verify my self employed regular income before they will at all consider any line of credit.

Obviously after hearing this I just decided it is not worth the effort at all.
 
Luckily I am salaried. Very happy with my Capitec credit cards interest rate. Even lower than my VirginMoney one. Closed my high interest rate and too much monthly fee one at FNB, need to find out how to close the Nedbank one.

What interest rate did Capitec give you as a matter of interest?
