Capitec Online Purchasing Problem

Hi everyone!

Im having a problem with my capitec card while trying to purchase online. Yesterday I went into the store to activate it for online purchasing, and all went well, Signed the papers and they told me it will take 24hours until I can buy online, and also had to register over the internet with the Mastercard securecode which I have done, so actually it should allow me to purchase online now, but yet im still getting errors while trying to purchase. I want to pre-order 2 items from this website, which you only pay once the items gets released and you confirm with them. Since its only a pre-order I want to secure those items so they dnt get sold out, so they just require your banking details to secure the items, and then once the items are available they will notify you and then only deduct the money from your card.

Contacted capitec support and they told me they don't allow people to pre-order items which require you to only pay later? Whats up with that?

Just require some help from anyone that knows this.

Does your card work on paypal and other sites?

It works everywhere so they definitely did not activate the card if it isn't working on paypal.

It is the Global one debit card right?

Yes it is, which is strange that it won't work, And I know for a fact that the pre-order won't take any money from my card until they send me a confirmation email. So lack of money in the bank is certainly not the problem.

Usually says if there is a lack of funds if it is that so go to them and complain.

The card should definitely work with PayPal. I'm sure it should also work for your pre-order. I would just ask them to make sure it has been activated.

I phoned them again, they told me "It cannot work cause it will only work if the card is a credit card, not a debit card for the pre-order as I can only purchase with my debit card when the payment is taken off immediately." So im going to link my card with paypal in a bit and then try again.

which website is it that you preordering from and what?

Its not reserving funds, its just preordering, since they email you when the payment is due to make sure you have the funds in your bank and can pay.
 
Use the paypal option when paying on AmiAmi just tried. Also with paypal linking you need money to verify if it is your first time.

Ah, well, as long as you can't get PayPal to work, there is definitely something wrong on Capitec's side.

Yea ive got the money, just waiting for the code from paypal.
