Capped ISP's to get 200gigs from

Weird, I never had to give any Rica documents. Just fill out their 3 or 4 page form and send it back.

im hoping i can atleast watch 720 on my cellphone now... wasnt able to with afrihost even though i was paying R396 for 2 meg uncapped

2Meg isn't fast enough for 720p YouTube.

It doesn't matter what or how sweet a deal is. NEVER move your line away from Telkom to an ISP.

ok so it looks like I went for VOX...did they ask you for RICA info?

Wait whut.... RICA info? That is for sim cards, not an ISP data account. [...]

Some ISPs have started requiring new clients to be RICAed. VOX is one, another is IS Ignite (and reseller Connections).

Typical 480p/720p low-bitrate profile movie:

Length: 01:35:00 (6600sec)
Filesize: 700MB
Required bandwidth: 0.106MB/s / 108KB/s / 0.8Mbit/s

Typical 720p high-bitrate profile movie:

Length: 01:50:00 (6600sec)
Filesize: 4.36GB (4464MB)
Required bandwidth: 0.676MB/s / 700KB/s / 5.4Mbit/s

http://superuser.com/questions/506568/how-much-bandwidth-i-need-to-stream-720p-hd-movie

and

Netflix

1 Mbps for viewing on a laptop computer
2 Mbps for SD video on a TV
4 Mbps for 720p HD video
5 Mbps for "the best video and audio experience" (according to Netflix)

Moral: "proper" 720p, never on 2Mbps.

Well, point is it can't be fluent. Even Google themselves say 720p video bit rate is 5000Kbps and your line is 2048Kbps.

One question. Is YIFI stuff "720p" to you?

hi,

Are there any suggestions from you guys who I can get 200gigs of Capped bandwidth that is the best performing.... I know generally capped is better but what are your guys suggestions?

Thank you

How much of that traffic can be scheduled? Telkom Internet accounts have unlimited traffic between midnight and 07h00. We have a few guys (who have their downloads strictly scheduled) doing 1TB/month on small capped accounts.

Hmmmmmmm . . .

All my mates on telkom battle some evenings with performance on one of our servers(gaming)

Where is the game server hosted? MWEB?

Any reason MWEB servers would be **** at times? I ask because I experience this to certain MWeb servers and can't for the life of me find out why.

Well over seas actually but it only happens after 7 or 8 in the evening and when i was on telkom way back when i experienced the same issue on COD

Peering dispute between Telkom (wholesale) and MWEB. We're working on plans to rely less on the peering link in question.
