Capped?

Silly question, but how do you know when you're capped. Do you get a specific error message. Does it still connect but you can't browse?
(Saix - Telkom).

It will authenticate and connect but your browser will get a timeout when you try to browse

Thx, I keep getting this wrong password error, thought I might be capped as I know it the correct password.
Anyway will probably have to ring in and listen to some 20 minutes of Telkom music before some idiot at the help desk will suggest that i re-install my Operating System.

usually a red light should pop up on your router/modem when u try to connect.

The red light does not always warn you. To avoid not knowing, just get a usage monitor, usually supplied by your isp on their homepage.

Can you not access Telkom's ADSL users tats page when you're capped?

A usage monitor wont make a dif if you're with Telkom as you don't know when you'll get capped - I'm on 8 now and still going strong.

I was capped last month. The ADSL light was steady but the PPP light kept flashing. Telkom ADSL 5100.
