So I can finally afford to replace my front loader unit (and 2 speakers...) that got stolen at the end of last year.

What are my options to purchase online? I'd like relatively quick delivery: ie a few days. I'm based in CT, so any walk-in shops that have competitive prices would also walk.
I'm currently looking at the Sony CDX-GT620UI which I can get for R995.00 from AutoStyle and then a pair of speakers for my front doors too (+- R300)

Any suggestions would be great.

Sorry to hijack, I also need to replace my system , do any of these systems come with Bluetooth so you can hook up a smartphone and tram music?

Haha not a problem - I haven't yet decided anyway, so I'm open to ideas.

That sony doesn't have bluetooth. The BT ones push my budget up too much. I'm more looking at iPod compatibility. I see Soundmatch has some cheapish BT ones.

The standard Sony GT45U with USB inputs is serving me fine for over a year now. It's got 7 band EQ and some other sound enhancements. I detach the whole deck at night not just the face because the thieves tend to steal these radios even without the face.

For speakers I'm using 2x6,5" Sansui split woofers + tweeters to an amp. Those split systems are solid on the bass ;)

The last thing I'm looking for is how much bass I can put out - or have an "extra" components. All I want is a way for my iPod/Phone to play music and to listen to the radio.

Great. Tweeters should suffice.

I do my car audio at Victoria Cash Store in Somerset-West. They are very willing to make you a good deal and will install for free. What are is it? Chances are you can go for bigger speakers than what the car came with.

Car is a VW Citi Golf - 1991. Went for standard 5" speakers in the end as I wasn't looking for anything fancy.

Thanks! Place I went to in Strand put garbage in my car. Lasted 6 months. Farked.

VCS did me an awesome deal way back when on an LG head unit for my Astra. Years later when I had a Corsa Lite the changed the front speakers from 5.25" to 6.5" using adaptor rings and took the boot panels apart in order to install 5.25" units in the designated speaker holes - a rather tricky job if you want to keep everything looking stock.

I bought a Alpine CDE-133BT for R2500 to replace my factory fitted radio in 2012. It has Bluetooth and what makes it nice is that is comes with a little external microphone so you can make and take calls with your phone via Bluetooth, and it even shows the caller ID :) It also has bluetooth media so you can push music from your bluetooth device, has a USB port so you can charge and drive, or play music from USB. And of course the other radio stuff like RDS, aux in, CD player with mp3/wma support.

All in all, a good solid radio.
