Looking for a Car below 155 000. Don’t want to go second hand, must be safe, abs, airbags, crash test etc...

Been looking at
vivo trendline 1.4 ( insurance is expensive)
Vivo GT 1.6 ( insurance is expensive)
Kia Rio ( no stock)
Honda Brio ( boot to small)

What else is there to consider?

i20 or perhaps the Facelifted Figo - neither are the most exciting or powerful hatches around but will offer you better value than the Vivo and more space over the Brio.

If Insurance is expensive on those two cars it's going to be expensive on all of them.

Are you very young or do you have a very short insurance history?

Also buying a demo isn't going second hand and would be highly advisable as you lose a lot of money on a brand new car. Should be plenty of Rio demo stock as well.

Cherry QQ
Chana Benni
Toyota Yaris
Toyota Etios

I would suggest an i20. Any reason why you are opposed to second hand?

Chevy aveo?
My choice would be in order : Kia Rio & i20 (depends on your personal preference as they are the same car), then the Aveo, i10 (also a bit small)
I would avoid the VWs like the plague, they are a know theft/hi-jack target, hence the expensive insurance.
This also applies to the toyotas.

Id stay clear of both the Chery and the Chana. The Etios would fit your budget but wont offer the same quality as a Figo or i20. If you are willing to consider a Chinese car though then the GWM Florid Cross isn't a bad option...

General price for Insurance for a ford figo 1.4 trend retailed at R130 000 is approximately R 550.

If you been with the same insurance company for a while ask for some discount I just got my wive's ford figo insured for R450

You could probably get a 2012 Polo 1.4 comfortline for the same money. Buy it from a VW dealer with their mastercars warranty and you're fine. Don't limit yourself to new, 1/2 year old and demo models are your friends.

Must be a Gauteng problem then.

I pay R450 for a car worth double that.
