The last time I got insurance quotes they asked if there were any accidents in the last 7 years. I did not even have my DL for 7years. Person said they had to ask all the Qs.

Maybe the number of years since your accident count against you. Perhaps take the best price insurance and then get new quotes once you are 1 day over the 7 years....

Have no idea but that is why I have a broker. R370 for i10, R200 for 2007 Atos - R2K excess regardless. Always check the excess. Example is First For Women who if add all the possible penalites, will pay R12K excess. Me, if I give my maids 16yr old son permission to use my car and he crashes it, still R2K excess.

Actually I found the insurance companies to use a basic formula on these city cars. I got a list of all the cars and then got quotes, it was all based on retail price of car and not the model. I did however not get a quote on a VW, I hear thats the exception.

I think you should get an insurance broker, or PM me I'll put you in touch with mine. Dealing direct is not cheaper.
