Car guards turn to digital payment solutions

Always prefer malls with 1.5h of free parking. Or PnP or WW pay for your 90min otherwise. Some malls have no payment due at all and no car guards. Take Big Bay or Sunningdale. On the other hand Paddocks has guys who ask for money.

The worst is Blue Route mall underground parking. It's paid parking with booms and everything, but they also have car guards there as well. I'm like WTF? You want me to pay the mall for parking AND pay the car guard too? Not a chance.

beggers wearing high vis, honestly never tip them, and even with yoco machines or whatever wont tip them,
know it sounds rough, but honestly this is their day job, at night they do some robbing and pillaging,

what next, those window washer guys who forcibly try to wash your windscreen, also carrying yoco devices?
maybe beggers at street corners? I mean sure were a cashless society, but this is getting ridiculous.

I'm always nice and friendly to them when I get out of the car, and then when I come back I tell them to F-off. Where people make the mistake is to tell them to F-off as soon as they park. Rookie mistake.

Yeah be nice when you arrive, and at the end of the shopping trip just leave.

I generally only tell them to f-off if they ask for money or get in my way when I'm reversing out of a parking spot.

For sure, the F-off only comes out after my polite "no thanks" is rejected.

No matter what payment method, I will not pay them. I will not be rude unless they start badgering me.

You are not paying to guard your car, you are paying for them not to damage your car next time you come to the same place in case they remember you...
BS. I never pay car guards and shop at the same places for years and never had any damage to my cars.
I greet them friendly and are still friendly when I leave, never had a problem.
Never understood why people have to be snotty to car guards. Probably religious people that read some Bible verses the morning and then they feel guilty not wanting to give something and then tell them to f-off.
Whats wrong with juts saying no thank you politely with a smile?

How about, nope.

BS - Who in their right mind tips a "car guard" R30.

Absolutely. They get nothing from me in general, but the guy at Builders who helped me load 20kg buckets of paint got a tenner. Who do they think we are, Mr Burns?

I use mobile money transfer (send to ATM code) , usually only if they've done something for me though. Like at Makro if they pack my car for me i'll give them R50-R100 or so. I do feel for them, but sometimes you also feel like you're harassed lol.

Sometimes they ask and i have no cash, i usually don't. So i just use the send cash option. a QR code would actually be even faster..
R50-100 for putting a few things in your car?
