Hello,
My Mother was involved in a car accident last week, after filling out all the forms with the police station and insurance she decided to get her car privately fixed as insurance excess payment was ridiculous.
The other person involved has not got back to us or there insurance as of yet.
My question is when they do get back must my mother pay the persons excess, if yes does she pay it to the person or insurer and can it be done via installments.
I went around and got quotes on the other persons damage and I got general quotes of R800 - R1100 from 5 places.
If the excess the person has to pay is like R8000 will I be able to dispute this?
It was a rear end crash my mother person being the person who got the front end damaged but I told her not to admit fault as it does seem the person braked erratically.
Any help on the matter would be great.
