Greetings,

I have lost a CX5 spare key. To cut the long story short, I believe it got stolen by someone who was living with us and have just left yesterday. A couple of things could not be found after she left and that includes 2 spare keys, Honda Civic and CX5. I am worried that the cars can be stolen easily while sleeping. What is the cheapest way of resolving this issue, go straight to a Mazda/Honda dealerships or find a legit car key coding specialist?

Basically, I want to deactivate the lost spare keys so that whoever has it, will not be able to use on any of the above-mentioned cars.

Phone your insurance asap. They should pay and will want this resolved asap and properly. When my spare was stolen during a house break in the insurance replaced my key(s) and even the locking mechanism and ignition at a huge cost to them.

Report to police and insurance with the case number.

Insurer will handle or at least your @ss is covered should something happen to the vehicles.

Thanks man, will do that right away.

I did go to the Police yesterday in the evening as a precautionary measure. Thanks for your reply.

To everyone who replied with a solution or a joke to cheer me up, thank you. I appreciate your time. I need to start working on this now, making some calls etc.

If I missed any valuable reply and didn't respond, just know that it wasn't on purpose, have a lot on my head.

I get the logic, you made my day . I had to explain to my wife why I was laughing when things are like this.
Yeah man - I hope you are able to get it resolved ASAP - not fun having to sleep with one eye open... Like a rabbit

Get a steering lock for each vehicle in the meantime, that’ll stop any ideas of them quickly and easily driving off with either of the vehicles.
