Hi does the law state that a vehicles license has to be current when selling a car.

License has to be paid up before transfer of ownership to buyer afaik.

You're free to advertise and sell a car without a license though.

It has to be up to date for the buyer to register it in his name. If you don't pay it and expect him to, the car may well stay registered in your name for a while, which is not what you want.
