Car likely written off

The car was written off for that?

Someone already has that car fixed and it's already being sold on a dealership floor somewhere as a code 2 :o

I'd write it off too, for that amount of damage. Bent chassis is the biggest issue there as all as the amount of body work needed.

Lucky you...

They're offering me 15k less than what I bought the thing for 5 months ago(excluding all the services etc I did on it), and I don't have the 20k to add on to whatever they pay me to get something similar because I just bought the thing and I'm moving house end of dec. The difference between a 45k car and a 65k car is massive, in my eyes they are being incredibly unfair and I won't stand for it.

Committed to buying a car today. 2008 Honda Jazz. Going to have to spend pretty much all my disposable funds on the difference between insurance and its price, but it's a good deal and way above the other cars I've seen between R60k and R70k.

This isn't it, but it looks identical to this one:

Can't go wrong with a Jazz, come highly recommended and apparently with all the back seats flattened they can move quite a load.

Saw my uncle last week, fark one serious drawback I've never noticed, if you have a Sandton sized handbag that's about all that will fit in the boot, it's ridiculously small, bizarre.

It really is tiny, didn't buy this car for practicality tho!

Reading some of the posts about insurance companies... What names are you guys using?

Got car problems of a different kind. My wife's car's been in for repairs for the past week - delay getting parts. She's been using mine. Now she doesn't want to give it back :/

Never give the missus your car for an extended period of time...

I made that mistake once, and she was very upset with me when I took it back and even more upset when I sold it.

I'm now thinking about trading her car in on a 2003-2004 CLK500 :D Should keep us both happy....

Only get the "new" car once she's settled into your old one.... then she won't try steal the new one.

Haha thanx guys, my savings and bonus are pretty much destroyed but decided to throw the sensible panties in the bin and do something a bit different.

I think I'm in love...

Well worth it ;)

You can save up quickly to replace that bonus and savings you spent :p

The flattening seats won't benefit me, as the first thing I'm doing is installing a proper sound system. Sourcing a replacement facia panel that can fit a standard double head unit has been a pain in the ass. Really wish car manufacturers would stop pretending that their head units are worth keeping...
