Car Med

AUTOZONE, standard price. I even said the price for 1 liter was ridiculous and then they gave me a discount
 
I drive a Merc C180, i gave both a call

CarMed = R647 Comprehensive cover, if something's brakes, they fix it, no matter what the cost, they pay for the full service

Hollard = R740 MaxiCover, everything is limited, if your car is older that 10 years or more than 200000km on the clock they only cover 50% of the cost, and they only pay to a max of R1500 per service

my conclusion, Carmed is the best thing since sliced bread.....
 
Well ur right there but the other thing to consider is how long has car med been in the business?

I e-mailed them to ask them that yesterday this is what i asked

"How long have u guys been going? and how many clients do you have on board?

Are you affliated to any car manufacturers or the RMI?"

and this was their response

"Very good questions, can at least see you are well educated in regards to vehicles and RMI. Okay we started this business in 2004 as New model motor plan. We only did fleet vehicles by then and we have a great track record. With the recent recession a lot of companies downsized and the first thing to go out the door was vehicle maintenance. So we started CAR MED on the same principle as New Model Motor plan, but just more friendly to the private person. We started last year already with privates but only recently realized the internet is the way to go for marketing. Our website was designed during December of 09 and we only started advertising in a small way by mid Jan 2010. So yes for the company we are still very new to this market but we do have enough contacts and experience to do a great job of it. Regarding RMI, we did apply for RMI approval, our contact person there is Raoul Spinolla. His email is [email protected]. He is still trying to convince the board to give us Rmi approval as we only use RMI approved dealers. So yes the people attending to your vehicle is RMI approved. We do this to cover our basis."
