We are going for vacation for 1month and we have purchased car recently. while going do we have to remove the batteries and keep or give our car keys to our friends and tell them to start vehicle and keep for some time. what we should? which is the better option?

Park it somewhere out of direct sunlight, disconnect the battery and make sure rats won't start chewing on it. The battery disconnection is a fine option if you don't mind setting the settings again, and if you don't have tracker or some other device that requires power from the battery. I travel quite often and I frequently don't even disconnect the battery, haven't really had any issues.

1 month is a long time to leave a car with the battery still connected. I travel from Joburg to Cape Town and leave a car at times for long periods. (and yes, once I had to jump start my forester after leaving it for a long period.)

It is better for the vehicle to be started and used one day per week, if you and your friend are comfortable with that. If not, I would definitely disconnect the battery.

Don't forget fuel stabiliser as well, although I don't know how important it is in a car that will be standing around as it is for a bike.

The best is to buy a decent car battery charger and leave it on the car battery for the month. When you come back there will be no problems.

Left mine with battery connected for 6 weeks with now issues. Started on first turn.

If the battery is on it's last legs then you will most probably have problems leaving it standing for one month. Even if you disconnect it.

No problem at all, the car won't even know that you've been away. One of the worst things you can do is start it and let it idle every few days. Make sure it's safely parked in a rat free garage, and throw a sheet over it to keep it clean...that's all.

My classic car has stood up to 3 months when I am not able to drive it and it always starts first time. Moenie worry nie! :D
