Car opinions - Crossover SUV

With my new found bias towards Suzuki, take a Vitara for a spin.

Looks to be a bit on the expensive side on paper at least when compared with the likes of the Mazda. I see there is a dealership close enough to the office so I might pop in and have a look at it in person.

3&4 on your list as all rounders. The Mazda - luggage area 264 l and ground clearance 155 - is really more of a normal car than anything else.

I would have a look at the Nissan Qashqai as well.

Suzuki vitara?

Heck if you wait till nov you can buy my wifes one almost new super cheap.

Seriously underrated car. The new turbo ones seem great.

I was going to buy a Stinger...Klaar gelag....The decision was made.
I drove passed a Suzuki dealership.
What the hell! Let me take a Swift Sport for a spin.
I now drive a Sport.
If you walk into to a Suzuki dealership and they get you to drive a Suzuki of your choice, you'll buy one.

A hella price difference between a Stinger & an SSS. Let alone to the fact they only brought a small amount of units into SA. Cool story nonetheless.

Did you wake up and discover it was all a dream or what now?

I would go for the Mazda. But remember it will be a gas guzzler compared to the polo.

The Nissan Micra, although it has attractive “mini SUV” looks, is still........a Renault

(the K14 Micra shares its platform and components with the Renault Kwid, Twingo, Modus, Pulse, Datsun Go/Go+, Dacia Logan, Lada Largus, Venucia D60 etc.)

Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi shared platforms

Just got our Captur back. 1 year later and blown turbo. A month at Renault and R40k later we got it back. Luckily covered by waaranty
Seen it plenty on polos and all these new turbos, it's not a Renault problem. Besides, warranty is there for a reason?

I had the Ecosport with the 1.5TDI. Fantastic car. Engine is very nippy and fuel efficient. Never a problem overtaking in the hilly area I live in. The boot is a bit small for big family outing though. This was my only complaint with it. Very stable on the road. I like to sit up very straight and it has that feel. I can't understand people who like to slouch in their cars. The Ecosport gives a good view of the road ahead and surroundings. Price was good when I bought it, considering all the standard features. I got a good trade in on it when I upgraded to the Everest a few years back.

Subaru XV?
The XV is for a specific type of user.
I'd have to ask why he's looking to buy an SUV.

Compared to normal cars, they are less fun to drive due to the body roll and height. He doesn't have kids or space requirements, so I'm not sure what the motivation is here.
