car purchase - finance question

You might want to get a settlement estimate. The amount due might be higher than what you think, it's not penalties, but the bank is "losing" money cause you are settling sooner.
I will check that, when I bought the car I told the person in finance that I will be settling the car in June, and she said that there wont be any penalties. They apparently just need 3 months notice, which I gave immediately.

Its a 2024 fiat 500 automatic with 4000kms. I want to get something like Hyundai venue or a Toyota urban cruiser.
No one is still buying Fiat 500's, even blonde chicks have moved away from those, get a Hyundai Venue with a Turbo.
You are not going to get much for that Fiat by the way, R150K max.

Stay away from the Toyota Urban cruiser or any Suzuki, there are no different from the Fiat 500 in terms of power.

Where is the other thread, I want to see if your advice is valuable enough to warrant a merge. :)

Cut him some slack. When you drive a beat up old Getz and Picanto, you need to improve it however you can...
I drove a Picanto once as a rental, not a bad daily runner. As for the Getz, only a male cross dresser would feel comfortable in that ride.

Just a update for all of you rays of sunshine. I got into a panic with all your positive encouraging messages,
and contacted we buy cars, their estimate is R220 000.00
I know that their estimates are usually higher, I have sold two vehicles to them in the past, and once they do an inspection and check out the nitty grittys of the car they usually go lower with their final offer.
The we buy cars guy who phoned me is confident that I will not get less than R210 000.00 after sending him
about 20 detailed photos of the car and giving him all the information on my vehicle, and he is going to come
do an in person inspection.

I did research on this vehicles pricing before buying it - every other one I could find was priced R249 and up, and this car
was originally priced at 269 000 and then dropped down to 249 and then to 199. So I believe I bought a pretty good deal,
and may even make money on it.

Sell it to them ASAP.

Don't forget to get each person that made a contribution to this thread a streetwise 2.
