Car sound system for noob

So I am looking for a sound system for my car, but I have no idea which brands provides the best quality, value for money, or which I should just stay away from.

I know that it is as with most things in life, that you get what you pay for. But If I am gonna shop around for good deals I need to know what I am looking for. I also know that certain brands are more trusted than others. But that's where my knowledge ends....

Which brands are good for:

Front loader/radio
Amp (can I get away without one of these?)
Sub (not looking for the most badass one around - small one would do)
Speakers (thinking about 2 - 6x9s)
Don't know If I should bother with tweeters?

My budget will probably only allow for front loader and 2 - 6x9's. The rest ill add along the way.
