This thread is not a discussion on the benefits or otherwise of car tracking devices. I have one in my car. I get a discount on my insurance and I get a monthly logbook to keep my accountant and SARS happy. Or that's the idea. My previous car had a Netstar device that never gave a moment of trouble. Netstar even went so far as to check on me when it decided that I was somewhere that they didn't expect me to be. So, when I replaced the car, I got whatever the newest version of the same tracker was. All appears good, until I notice that I am missing trip information in the logbook. Sometimes I leave home, travel a few km and then park in the middle of a highway. The next trip starts either where it started or at some random location along the way home. Sometimes I drive somewhere, but never return.

I've had the unit replaced once, with no change, so the next step will be to get a senior technician. If this works, all well and good and I won't be giving them 0 star reviews anymore. If not, I will, politely at first, ask them to come and remove anything that they think belongs to them and cancel my contract. In this case, which tracking company should I try next?
