Howzit there mates.

Quick question; does the engine warranty get voided if your vehicle is involved in a car accident?

So a friend was involved in a head-on collision into a wall; lapse of concentration lead to that according to him.

Now i'm no car mechanic, but his issue is that when the car is switched on, he can only put the car into R, from R to 1st gear and that's all she wrote. The clutch doesn't go all the way down when he tries to shift to 2nd gear or any higher gear.

Now, the car manufacturer says they will not do anything about it, the cost will have to come from him because it is not their fault that there are issues, they even refuse to inspect the car for free...

Isn't this an insurance issue? Who repaired the vehicle - shouldn't they look at it?
Although still an interesting question - if my vehicle is repaired and six months later something else unrelated goes wrong, where would I stand?

Insurance claim was rejected, didn't even ask why... Not sure which panel beater he used to do the repairs, but I do know that he bought all the parts from the car manufacturer directly. This is just something that occurred once he got the car back from repairs.

Insurance claim was probably rejected cause the panelbeater wasn't approved. Normally I ask the insurance company to pay me directly then take it to a reliable contact ...

Probably something minor and not serious but tell your friend to take her vehicle to a gearbox place, but before she does that she needs to contact her insurance. Please tell me she did report the accident to the police station within 24 hours

Accident was reported. Not sure why the claim was rejected, didn't ask.

I'd say it's more likely that the claim was rejected because the "friend's" lapse of concentration was caused by something other than fatigue.

I don't think this is true. They should if it was repaired by a brand-approved repair shop.

I agree with this. Looks like someone made a succession of mistakes here - firstly whatever caused the claim to be rejected and then not using an approved panel beater.
