I regeistered on carbonite, and saw an item i wanted to buy... but the forum tells me i do not have sufficient permissions to do a search.

Can anyone help?
 
I think there's an email with an activation link you need to click?

What are you trying to search, by the way? If it's less than 4 letters (RAM, GPU, CPU, 670 etc.) it won't work. Stupid, but it's a mybb forum thing.

Searching "Apple TV".

I found one (before i registered this morning) but i can't send a PM. i need to buy one TODAY!!!! so i am kinda desperate here

Or dibs it on the thread, tell the seller you can't PM him and that he should PM his number to you so that you can Whatsapp him.

You can also use google to search for stuff on carbonite, as long as google has crawled the new post.

There's a reason it's disabled by default, it puts a lot of strain on the DB with short terms appearing all over the place.

That works. Kind of. Actually not really. Google won't display the results in any particular order. It also won't only display threads concerning the Apple TV. For example, if I have "Apple TV" in my signature, Google will return over 10,000 irrelevant results just from my posts all having "Apple TV" in the signature below. It also can't search by thread title only, or only in the for sale sections.

go to google and add
site:carbonite.co.za
to your search terms
