Carbonite seller in Plattekloof (says he is a reseller) has a MacBook M1
Agree on price and I am to call Saturday 24th at 10h00
Gives address as apartment building, no apartment number
Get there, call on WhatsApp, Mobile. No reply
Leave message
He calls today. Says he left phone in car the whole day
When I say I am not driving from Montagu again, he starts swearing

The seller sounds like a crackhead, so you no doubt dodged a bullet when he “left the phone in the car”, he probably had an all night rager and then was man down for the whole day.

It’s just over R16k on TAL. Why bother getting it secondhand?

YOU WIN...

... the dumbest comment of the day.

This is what happens when you do not buy from our beloved Evetech, and instead choose cheap used stuff from strangers.

Thankfully I can't relate to OP.

I bought a povo spec M1 Air back in July '23 via an oke from Carb.

Zero issues with the deal, oke was rather flexible with my suggestion of meeting at Starbucks/Starbuck Kanala Walk. A young witou, brought his bra with as well. I checked it (the lappie) out in detail, oke was patient. I was happy, did the immediate transfer then & there. It reflected on his end. We shook hands & respective parties chucked.

That's how a deal should go down.

And no I didn't purchase any overpriced Starbucks/Starbuck.
