Career advice at 31.

Hi everyone, does anyone know of any universities where I could still study and get a degree in RSA without going to physical classes? I'd have to study afterhours and I realize it would likely take a year or so longer, but I do want to persue it.

I did google and found a few sites, but I'd rather ask people here to get some insight from those that have done it.

I also found 'wethinkcode' which looks awesome, but unfortunately it requires full time commitment.

You can consider NWU's IT degree as well, and they're probably better than UNISA at dealing with admin issues: https://distance.nwu.ac.za/BSc-InformationTechnology
 
Hi all, just wanted to post a quick update here. I have been studying, a lot, in basically all my limited free time. I've been dual learning maths and HTML/CSS on Udemy and Khan Academy.
With HTML and CSS I was able to make my first website, just a few webpages that link to each other, completely static, but nothing fancy like Flexbox or SASS yet. I was struggling a lot in the beggining but once I realized everything in HTML is kinda like a block level element it became a lot easier to visualize and work with margin/padding/border and decide how/what I want to do.

Currently learning media queries and I was so surprised you could F12 in Chrome and choose what your content looks like on x or y device. Apparently the devtools on firefox are better.

Learning maths just because I haven't really touched it since school and I feel really stupid.

That all being said, the more I learn the more I realize how little I know, but happy to have learned as much as I have thus far. A few weeks ago if you asked me anything about html/css syntax I wouldn't even be able to tell you anything.

My youtube alrogirthm has definitely picked up on this because every video recommendation is either 'how to center a div' or 'is AI going to kill all programming jobs' - there is no inbetween

That’s great progress. Nicely done!

Keep at it and you’ll get there. Build up a portfolio along the way.
 
Was playing around with a few different languages today, luckily was working reduced hours due to Public Holiday.
Obviously a few minutes/hours of playing around with it doesn't mean anything (and honestly some of them were hard to get running), but I watched tutorials about them while messing about, and wow, I have a newfound respect for programmers/developers. I mean I always had a 'mental idea' of it, but never realized, literally every aspect of something is coded.

I watched this;

and like 70% of it went over my head. But I was able to follow along and it worked at the end. But will be back on CSS/HTML until I feel better about that.
