Carel van der Merwe is a founder shareholder of G-Mobile Holdings. He studied B. Com (Law) at the University of the Free State and completed his articles in the commercial division at the attorneys firm of EG Cooper Attorneys. He finished his MBA through Durham University Business School (DUBS UK) and did his Masters on “the opportunity of wireless broadband in South Africa”.
He was involved in the development of electronic trading floors and administration systems for example the design of a trading floor for the Independent Agricultural Organization and an electronic wool marketing platform for Agmark SA, and has extensive knowledge of information systems and e-business models. He is also an honorary citizen of the State of Tennessee, US.
