Carte Blanche... Shelby Tyne

I recently threatened not to watch Carte Blanche ever again but then made a decision that I would watch the adverts, see what was on, see how negative it was going to be and then decide. Well tonight I decided I'd watch... and I'm glad I did!

I have been ridiculed on here before due to my attempts to always be positive and do my little bit to make this country of ours better. Tonight I felt hope as it appears there are others out there!

Now I am nowhere near this man, yet, but did you guys see the Natal farmer Shelby Tyne and his solution to the power crisis? Now that is the sort of person we need in this country. Instead of wasting his energy on moaning he puts it into looking for solutions.

I hope this man gets what he deserves in life with his great attitude. Even though I did take notice when he said that he was not giving information on his solution to others for financial gain as for him a cleaner environment was reward enough for him!

He is my new hero!

And on that positive note... how great was it to hear about the young lad making strides in rocket science arena! You go boy!

I also enjoyed the episode. It has some excellent possibilities and if loads of farmers start to implement something similar (perhaps with more refined technology) they can be 100% self sufficient and once Eskom realize that they can be of help, actually provide their excess for sale to Eskom's grid.

also watched the show and it was interesting but so few people are ever heard from again when it comes to new ideas. its such a pity.

Well I suppose just like with negative stories, they get milked, get the viewers and then it becomes old news. That does not mean the idea does not go on to be succesful it just means the press loses interest. This was a follow up story so it obviously caused a stir the first time.

I agree that was a great story, I especially like how he insists that he shares his info at no cost, after watching mostly CNN this weekend about ethanol farmers in the US wanting to make a quick buck this reminded me that we have great people right here in SA.
